Title I, DOP and Migrant Education
The department of
Title I, Dropout Prevention and Migrant Education coordinates
instructional programs and alternative settings for students
who require intensive instruction and support. Major
responsibilities of the department include:
 | Administrative and
instructional support for the District Title I programs
which include Title I, Part A (Educationally Disadvantaged),
Title I Part D (Delinquent Educational) and Title I Part C
(Migrant Education). |
 | Coordination and
implementation of the No Child Left Behind legislation and
requirements. |
 | Coordination and
assignment of students to Department of Juvenile Justice
programs located at the PACE Center for Girls, Gainesville
Wilderness Institute, Alachua Regional Detention Center and
the Halfway House for Girls. |
 | Placement of students
into alternative programs at the Horizon Alternative School. |
 | Coordination and
enforcement of the compulsory attendance laws of the State
of Florida and Alachua County Public Schools. |
 | Implementation of Dropout
prevention programs and services. |
 | Implementation and
coordination of the migrant education program. |
