"The Secondary Language Arts Curriculum Department is dedicated to providing students with skills necessary for independence as a future functioning member of society.

Learning to read is essential to full participation in our society.  Positive early experiences in reading establish the foundation for the lifelong habit of reading for pleasure and information.  When students learn to read, they come to understand that they read to learn.  

Our goal is to provide students with the basic knowledge and skills needed for success in school."
