The Purchasing Department is committed to providing efficient, professional procurement services to District faculty and staff through the acquisition of quality goods and services at competitive prices, in accordance with District purchasing policies and procedures and sound business judgment, and by fostering fair and open competition among vendors in order to ensure public confidence in the integrity of the purchasing process.

The Purchasing Department is comprised of the Purchasing Director, Wayne Hackett, the Sr. Buyer, Jim Roper, and the Executive Assistant, Mike Farnsworth. The Purchasing Director oversees the operations of the Physical Distribution Department and the Printing Department.

The Purchasing Director reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Planning, Budgeting & Systems Accountability .

Our Responsibilities

We provide centralized purchasing for all District schools and departments. All purchases of equipment, supplies, and services are processed by the Department, with the exception of A&E contracts and capital construction and renovation projects, which are handled by the Facilities Department (955-7400, x276).

The Physical Distribution Department is responsible for commodity warehousing and delivery, receiving, tangible property control and surplus property auctions and disposal, and inter-departmental and -school mail delivery.

The Printing Department provides printing services, including forms, to all District schools and departments.
