Agriscience Foundation

A comprehensive course that will help students understand the concepts of plants and animals. Students will integrate biological and technological concepts with the aim on the agricultural industry. Biotechnology, genetics and high tech principles will be discussed and adequate laboratory time will be made available. Food production and preservation principles will be attained as the class progresses. The students will also discuss the economic impact and importance of agri-science on society.

Marine Science

The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the marine environment. -the nature of science -the origins of the oceans -the chemical, physical, and geological aspects of the marine environment -ecology of various sea zones -marine communities -the diversity of marine organisms -characteristics of major marine ecosystems -characteristics of major marine phyla/divisions -the interrelationship between man and the ocean.

Environmental Science

This course provides students with a study of man's interaction with the environment. The content includes but is not limited to: forms of pollution, conservation, environmental planning and policy, public land usages, population dynamics, and major forms of energy. Laboratory investigations are an integral part of the course.

Biology

This course provides students with general exploratory experiences and activities in the fundamental concepts of life. It expands and refines the biological concepts that were introduced in the elementary and the junior high/middle school, and presents additional facts, concepts, and generalizations. The content includes, but is not limited to, use of the scientific method, scientific measurement, laboratory safety and use of apparatus, cell biology, cell reproduction, basic principals of genetics, biological changes through time, classification and taxonomy, microbiology, structure and function of plants, structure and function of animals, structure and function of the human body, and ecological relationships. Laboratory investigations are an integral part of this course.

Integrated Science 1- This purpose of this course is to develop comprehensive concepts and to do investigative studies of concepts basic to earth, its materials, processes, and history and environment in space. This course will also provide students with investigative studies of the theories and laws associated with the natural physical and chemical properties of matter and familiarize students with human growth and development within the context of our society.

Earth/Space Science

This course provides opportunities for students to develop comprehensive concepts basic to the earth, its materials, processes, history, and environment in space. Laboratory investigations are an integral part of this course.
