The Academy of Information Technology (AoIT) is a MAGNET program that educates the student in a variety of information technology subjects. Information technology is a great field to go into, with high wages and great job opportunities. This is largely due to how fast it's growing, with various IT jobs listed in 4 out of the top 5 fastest growing jobs on CNN. In the academy we give you a taste of a variety of subjects to help choose which is right for you, and prepare you for your future career or college. In the academy we give you a taste of a variety of subjects to help choose which is right for you, and prepare you for your future career or college.

Curriculum

  • Introduction to Information Technology
  • Programming/Database
  • Technical Support/Networking
  • Advanced Web/Digital Media
  • Internship

These broad courses let you...the student...decide what place in the computer world is right you. Programming isn't your thing, but art is? No problem, the digital media class should suit you perfectly. The internship at the end will give you the chance to actually work in a real technology workplace. This gives you the opportunity to get hands on experience that you otherwise couldn't get in a high school education.

Also, the academy gives wonderful opportunities to achieve college credit. Throughout your enrollment you will have the opportunity to earn 24 college credits. Not only will these jumpstart your college education, but also will save you time and money when the time comes.
