Administrative
Pool
Alachua County Schools maintains a pool of candidates
for principal and assistant principal positions within
the district. As vacancies occur, candidates to fill
those vacancies will be selected from those screened for
admission into the administrative pool. Applications for
screening are currently being accepted.
To be considered, an individual must submit a letter of
interest indicating the level and position in which the
applicant is interested (i.e. principal or assistant
principal, elementary, middle, or high school), a
completed application form, three professional
educational references, a current resume, transcripts,
and evidence of certification in Administration,
Administration and Supervision, or Educational
Leadership.

Qualification
A combination of training and experience with
progressively successful teaching and/or educational
administration for a minimum of three years at the
appropriate level: i.e. elementary, middle, or high
school; and a Master's degree or higher. Applicants
must document their leadership experience.
Certification
Upon application, applicants must hold a valid Florida
certification in Administration/Administration and
Supervision, Educational Leadership or School Principal.
Out-of-state candidates must hold appropriate
administrative certification and evidence of the ability
to be certified in Florida Educational Leadership or the
equivalent.
Contractual Period for Administrative Positions
Twelve (12) months or until June 30 of the current year.
Application Deadline
First Semester: September 15
Second Semester: January 15
Summer: June 15
Include application, resume, copy of certificate,
reference forms, official transcripts, and letter of
interest. All applications will be processed according
to the School Board adopted Human Resources Management
Development Plan (HRMD) system. A copy of the Alachua
County HRMD Plan may be obtained from the Staff
Development Office.
