Alachua County Public Schools are always looking for quality substitute teachers. Please join our ranks as a valued part of a student's instructional day. 

To apply: 

1. Complete an instructional application. 

2. Provide your official college transcript(s). You must have a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit. 

3. Submit three completed reference forms. You may use former employers, college professors, or persons who can attest to your ability to work with children. 

4. A background check will be completed. 

Substitute teacher pay: 

•  Retired district teacher: $85/day, $12.14/hour

•  Bachelor's or higher degree: $76 per day, $10.85/hour

•  Associate's degree or 60 college credits: $62/day, $8.85/hour

Professionalism and classroom management training is mandatory for all substitute teachers and is offered after New Employee Orientation in room 01-052, Kirby Smith, west between 10:30am to 1:30 pm.
