Your completed application is essential to be considered for employment with Alachua County Public Schools. A complete application MUST be signed and include the following:

1. Three (3) reference forms preferably completed by current and former employers.

2. Copy of your high school diploma or GED verification (if required for the position).

3. Official college transcript(s) reflecting all degrees earned (if required for the position).

4. Copy of valid FLorida Educator Certificate or valid out-of-state certificate (if applying for a teaching position).

5. Copy of any licenses or certificates required for the position.

6. Signed Affirmative Action Data Form.

7. Signed Drug Free Workplace Form.

Answer all questions honestly. Employment (past and present) will be verified and local, state, and FBI criminal history checks will be conducted. Any falsification of application information will be grounds for exclusion from consideration for employment. 

   Incomplete applications will not be considered.

To activate your application, apply for an advertised position by signing up on a "Vacancy Sign-Up Form" in the Personnel Services Center at the Kirby Smith Administrative Building OR phone the Non-Instructional Job Line (352-955-7798) or Instructional Job Line (352-955-7799) and follow the instructions. Job Lines are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Apply only for positions which you are qualified and interested. Qualifications will be determined by assessing your education, training, and/or work experience as required in advertised vacancies. 

Employment Procedures:
Applications are reviewed by the Personnel Services staff to determine if applicants are qualified for the position for which they have applied. A list of the qualified applicants is referred to the worksite supervisor who will conduct interviews, check references, and recommend the selected applicant to the Personnel Services Department. A member of the Personnel Services staff will contact the applicant and make the official offer of employment.

Employment is contingent upon:

  1. Reporting for a drug test within 24 hours of the job offer AND a negative test result.
  2. Submission of fingerprints through the School Board's electronic fingerprinting system and criminal history background clearance. The applicant must pay the $61 cost for the fingerprint processing.
  3. Attendance at New Employee Orientation and completion of the required personnel/payroll forms. All new employees (excluding temporary, OPS, or supplement only) MUST utilize direct deposit for payroll checks. Employees who do not have a checking account will be required to receive pay through a PayAccess account with Wachovia Bank.
  4. School Board approval.
