The Center for Gifted and Talented Studies at Archer
Community School. Located at Archer Community School in the sand
hills of rural Alachua County, The Center offers a unique
educational setting. A small town atmosphere fosters an
intimate, family-like environment where students can safely
imagine, explore and discover the wonders of learning.
Emphasis is placed on a balanced curriculum approach focusing on
the physical, social and academic development of the individual
student. A fully integrated curriculum
utilizes true state-of-the-art technology immersing students in
challenging opportunities and experiences. The Center teaches
leadership skills through classroom activities, school community
projects. Archer Community is an award winning school receiving an A grade from
the State of Florida for the past 3 years. Archer Community
holds the honor of receiving the Five Star School Award, the
Golden School Award, the Red Carpet School Award, the Little Red
Schoolhouse Award and the Commissioner’s Business Partner Award
State of Florida Department of Education.
Recently completed capital improvement
projects include a classroom building that houses The Center, a
cafeteria, covered PE court, art and music rooms. Future
projects include complete renovation of the office and clinic,
as well as exterior upgrades.
