About Our School

Our school currently serves 308 children, Head Start through grade 5.  The school offers a basal-oriented, standards-driven, traditional curriculum.  It offers art, music, and physical education classes.  It has a small but stable gifted population.  It is classified by the district as a school-wide Title I school, serving 69% free and reduced population. The school is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

Renovations

Archer is currently undergoing a long-awaited renovation. A new cafeteria and two-story classroom building containing 7 classrooms, 2 computer labs, and a science lab have already been constructed and are currently in use. The old cafeteria space has been renovated to create 2 large rooms to house music and art. A covered play-court has also been built behind the cafeteria. New to the school in 2005-06 was a nature trail and outdoor classroom.
