What is the Littlewood PTA?
- A Parent-Teacher Association, which is part of the State and National PTA Associations.
- Open to all parents/caregivers of Littlewood students, as well as teachers and staff.
- Purpose: to bring parents, educators and the community together in order to promote the welfare of children in home and school; to raise the standards of home life; to secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children; to secure for all children the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
- Methods: the PTA organizes volunteer activities and fund raisers in order to provide support to Littlewood’s teachers and students.
- An Elected Board of parent volunteers and teachers runs the PTA.

Our Two Biggest Fund Raisers:
- Fall Carnival – a fun filled day of old-fashioned carnival games, food, friendship and prizes, including our wonderful Gift Baskets.
- Fall Gift Wrap fund raiser.
Other Events and Fund Raisers:
- Family Night, several times each year, with invited speakers that address topics of special interest to parents, special activities for the kids, and a free dinner for everyone!
- Teacher Appreciation Week in the Spring, including the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.
Planning Day Lunches for teachers, several times a year.
- Help Organize Volunteers for school wide programs and events such as the Morning Mile, the Book Fair, and the Spring Art Fling.
- Spiritwear shirt and car magnet sales.
- Yearbook sales.
- Entertainment Books sales.
We Provide Financial Support for:
- Littlewood Computer Aide – full salary and benefits.
- Lion’s Pride Tutoring – after school program.
- Safety Patrol Scholarship – for a 5th grader to participate in the end of the year trip.
- Hospitality for special events throughout the school year.
- Morning Mile – a running/walking program for students.
- Special Projects: Greenhouse, Playground equipment, Smartboards, Computer Server.
- Final Budget for the year 2006-2007
How You can be a Part of the PTA:
- Become a Member. As part of the State and National PTA Associations, we must require our members to fill out a membership form. These forms are available in the front office and sent home at the beginning of each school year. The cost of membership is only $5.
- Get Involved – working with the PTA you will meet other parents, as well as Littlewood teachers and administrators. Your volunteer work will benefit your children's school and their education. You will make new, wonderful friends. And you can work as much or as little as your time allows – it is entirely up to you.

- Check the Lion's Roar, the school's weekly newsletter, for PTA meeting and volunteer announcements.
- Come to our Monthly Planning Meetings, open to all members, to plan future activities. Meetings generally take place on the second Monday of each month, at 4:30pm, in the Littlewood Media Center.
