Here is an overview of the Fourth Grade at
Littlewood Elementary School...

Fourth grade is a year of change. Our students take on the challenge of more responsibilities than ever before. Through the use of Daily Planners students master the challenge.

 

The reading program includes a basal reading series that features fine literature, fiction and non-fiction selections, novels, the Accelerated Reader and STAR reading programs, and an exploration of poetry and fairy tales.

The fourth grade writing program involves pre-writing techniques, drafting, editing, revising, and publishing. This is accomplished through hands-on activities, small and whole group instruction.

The fourth grade will also be taking the FL Writes assessment. Look for more info to come!

   

The Fourth grade math and science program is one that involves basic skills, higher level problem solving, and learning through exploration. The two subjects are integrated as much as possible and students meet the challenges through daily individual work, group work, and projects.

 The fourth grade will be learning about the state of Florida this year. We will cover geography, history, and culminate with a Florida Festival.
